What is his process?
Albert has an interesting process that involves photographing anybody on the street. He finds it powerful when you photograph people with mystery and it reflects back on the work that comes out of it.
What is his connection to his subject matter?
Albert tends to have no connection with his subjects but as he talks to them he gets to see their personality that makes the photographs work.
What advice does he give?
Albert gives the advice of using your eye to capture a meaningful shot and don’t judge people because everyone has meaning.
ANDREW MOORE
What is his process?
Andrew’s process includes using a large and old polaroid type camera that creates interesting shots.
What is his connection to his subject matter?
Andrew uses the world as his subject. If he sees a possible photo of buildings, nature or even the street he takes a photo.
What advice does he give?
Open your eyes and see what you like and see what to capture.
SYLVIA PLACHY
What is her process?
Sylvia Plachy is a well known photographer who uses her imagination to express amazing close-up portraits.
What is her connection to her subject matter?
Sylvia finds that you don’t need to have an amazingly close connection with your subject, but you do have to try and get to know your subject before shooting them so they feel comfortable and relaxed.
What advice does she give?
The advice Sylvia gives is open your eyes and use your imagination to create something beautiful and amazing.
TIMOTHY GREENFIELD
What is his process?
Timothy uses a very bland backdrop and makes the subjects be serious but natural. He believes this creates an awkward but beautiful feeling on the viewers.
What is his connection to his subject matter?
Some of the subjects in the video are people he has had personal relations with. For example, his family, past models, etc.
What advice does he give?
He says be open with your subjects and make sure they’re comfortable otherwise your portraits will not work.
GREGORY CREWDSON
What is his process?
Gregory’s process is taking photographs of anyone and everyone.
What is his connection to his subject matter?
He believes he doesn’t need a connection with his subjects, he just takes his images.
What advice does he give?
He says to not be afraid and be bold woth your passion.
